What do you do in Pikmin?

in the first pikmin game your ship crashlands on a planet and all the pieces of your ship lay scattered all over the planet and you only have 30 days to get them till your air runs out. He finds pikmin and the pikmin help him get the pieces of his ship. Then you fly back home.

in the second one Olimar (the name of the player) goes back to his home planet and finds out that the company he works for is in debt of 10,000 pokos ( alot of money) you then have to go back to the pikmin planet with another employee (louie) to collect treasures and sell them. Then after you do that Louie runs gets lost and you can't find him so you go back to the planet and look for him. after you do that you have to collect every single treasure.
